terminal emulation - Program function that allows a Macintosh to log in to a host computer system as a specific type of data terminal
config.tel file - Configuration text file used by NCSA Telnet to establish parameters governing gateways, terminal emulation, and servers
LocalTalk network - Network using AppleTalk protocols over LocalTalk cabling.
soft seed router - a router that waits for a specified period of time after bootup to get its zone and network number information from another router. If zone and net number information is not available from another router, a softseed router then gets its network information from data entered by the network administrator. Mounted Disk - A disk is "mounted" if it is: a local hard drive, (only at the scan stations), an available network drive, a RAM disk, or a floppy disk currently in a drive.
